How Hypnotherapy Feels

When people ask me how Hypnotherapy feels, I sometimes wish I had a concrete answer for them; that I could tell them that it feels the same way for everyone. However, if that was the case, it may also mean that we wouldn’t be as unique as we all truly are, which would be so much less beautiful and exciting.

So, here is what I can say about how Hypnotherapy feels:

  • You will likely feel very relaxed, perhaps even the most relaxed you have ever felt.

  • You may feel like you’re in meditation, which is a great way to describe it, especially because we often consider Hypnotherapy to be “meditation with a goal.” What I also love about this description is that many people find themselves thinking during meditation, which is also what many people experience during hypnosis.

  • You may feel lightness, tingling, or numbness. You may also experience swallowing as a relaxation reflex or eye fluttering or eye movement.

  • Time may seem warped. A session can feel like it went by really fast or really slow. Oftentimes, people think they’ve been down in hypnosis for half an hour, when they’ve really been in a hypnotic state for double or even triple that amount of time.

  • You may experience a deep emotional or somatic release. Clients have reported a weight being lifted off their chest or their stomachs unclenching. They have also let go of suppressed emotions and long held beliefs.

  • You will likely feel, for lack of a better term…better.

  • Or you may feel any of these: Capable. Confident. Peaceful. Whole. Determined. Ready. Free.

However you feel during the Hypnosis process is unique to you. I invite you to give it a try yourself and experience firsthand the many benefits of reprogramming your subconscious mind.
